UrbanChain will welcome four outstanding talents to its growing team following the launch of the company’s inaugural graduate scheme programme.

Osarenogae Edobor, Mahrukh Hassan, Mihirr M Bhaagwat, and Tasnim Alam Nishat have all joined the Manchester-based CleanTech firm as strategy analysts.

It takes headcount at Manchester Science Park-based UrbanChain to 66.

Having received over 300 scheme applications UrbanChain Senior HR Manager Mhairi Robertson said: “We're thrilled to welcome Osarenogae, Mahrukh, Mihirr and Tasnim to our first official graduate scheme intake.

“All four will now take part in two six-month rotations in departments including optimisation, risk and operations, business development, growth, tech, finance and exec research. The first rotation will fit their skills and the second will challenge them to step out of their comfort zones.”

She added: “We launched the scheme to solidify a consistent flow of talent into UrbanChain as graduates bring new ideas and fresh perspectives. We aim to increase the intake year-on-year going forward.”

Having generated revenues of £25 million in 2024 - up from 2023’s £2.4m - UrbanChain is transforming the UK energy market through its renewable energy operating system that directly connects renewable energy generators with consumers.

The company - backed by investors including the prominent European investment group Eurazeo - serves a diverse clientele, including industrial and commercial enterprises, office complexes, data centers, local authorities, housing associations, industrial estates and hospitals.

Dr Somayeh Taheri, co-founder and CEO UrbanChain, said: “Hiring the best emerging talent is central to UrbanChain’s growth strategy and our unwavering commitment to provide excellence in what we do - backed by technology.

“Graduates bring the latest lines of discourse helping us stay at the forefront of innovation. I am also very pleased that we are strengthening our inclusive environment by supporting graduates at the start of their career journeys.

“What we promise to graduates is cutting-edge skills, strong mentors for personal and professional development and the chance to explore various opportunities that enhance their future career paths.”
