URBANCHAIN X BLACKFINCH ENERGY.
Generation and supply partnership signed
UrbanChain will purchase renewable electricity generated by two Blackfinch solar farms in Wales while supplying power across Blackfinch's wider portfolio in England, Scotland and Wales.
A TWO-WAY ENERGY PARTNERSHIP.
UrbanChain and Blackfinch Energy have entered into a wide-ranging two-way energy partnership spanning renewable electricity generation and supply across Great Britain.
UrbanChain will purchase the output from two Blackfinch solar farms in Wales, Llwyndyrus and Bryngolwg, while also supplying electricity to 24 meters across Blackfinch's wider portfolio in England, Scotland and Wales.
The partnership means UrbanChain operates on both sides of Blackfinch's energy portfolio: purchasing the renewable electricity produced by its solar assets while supplying power across its wider portfolio in England, Scotland and Wales.

INSIDE LLWYNDYRUS.
Llwyndyrus is a solar photovoltaic development at Llwyndyrus Farm in Y Ffôr, near Pwllheli on the Llŷn Peninsula in Gwynedd, North Wales.
For Llwyndyrus, UrbanChain used its position as a licensed energy supplier to establish a compliant structure that captures the benefits of P442. The electricity-market rule change allows qualifying licence-exempt supply to be identified separately through the industry settlement system.
The arrangement includes payment guarantees, compliance commitments and safeguards against future regulatory changes, giving Blackfinch a legally verified route to secure additional value from the electricity generated at the site.

IN THEIR OWN WORDS.
“We’re pleased to be building on our relationship with UrbanChain through this partnership. Our team are focused on making the most of our renewable energy assets while supporting the UK’s transition to a cleaner, more sustainable future. This partnership gives us an opportunity to optimise the value of the electricity we generate, while taking a more connected approach to managing energy supply across our wider portfolio.
“Working with UrbanChain reflects our commitment to finding innovative, practical solutions that support the long-term performance of our assets and contribute to the continued growth of renewable energy across the UK.”
Sam Dickerson Senior Commercial Portfolio Manager, Blackfinch Energy “In six months, our relationship with Blackfinch has grown from a single generation agreement into a broad partnership spanning renewable generation and energy supply across Great Britain.
“We now purchase power from Blackfinch's solar assets while supplying electricity across its wider portfolio. That is a strong example of the more connected energy market we are building, in which renewable generation and commercial demand can be brought together more efficiently.
“The work completed at Llwyndyrus gave us a strong foundation. We have now been able to build on that with a relationship covering more generation, more sites and more of Blackfinch's energy needs.”
