Arranging visits with you
As part of looking after your meter, we may need to visit you from time to time. This is usually to read, check, install or repair your meter.
Reading and inspecting your meter, or other routine visits
By law, we need to read and inspect your meter once every two years. When your meter stops transmitting data remotely, this is automatically detected by our Data Collector, who immediately raises a job and shares it with an engineer. The engineer manages their own schedule independently, and we're not always notified in advance of when the visit will take place.
Emergency visits
For emergency visits (like if you've lost your supply), we'll come as soon as we can. This means we might not make an appointment.
What you need to do
You must provide safe access to the meter at all reasonable times. If access is restricted or requires a prior arrangement, please let us know so we can plan visits in advance.
