UrbanChain CEO Somayeh Taheri has been recognised as one of the most influential people in the green energy revolution.
For the second year running Somayeh is listed in Insider North West’s Green Power List.
Individuals feature in three categories; Champions, Innovators and Changemakers.
Somayeh, CEO of the only company in the UK that runs an energy market just for renewables, was named as an Innovator.
Insider said of UrbanChain: “UrbanChain’s turnover pipeline is £22m and the company has received £2.1m in funding to date, including a £430,000 funding boost from the Department for Energy Security & Net Zero in early 2023.”
Others to be named in the Green Power 2023 list include Andy Burnham, Mayor of Greater Manchester, Steve Rotheram, Liverpool City Region Metro mayor, Amer Gaffar, director of Manchester Fuel Cell Innovation Centre and founder of Greater Manchester Hydrogen Partnership, Miranda Barker, chief executive of East Lancashire Chamber of Commerce and chair of RedCAT, Paul Fox, CEO of Fox Group and Sophie Gilmore, managing director, HybridTec, a specialist engineering training centre based in Liverpool.
