UrbanChain, supported by investment firm Eurazeo, has partnered with the Blue Earth Summit as an official partner.
The summit, described as “Where Innovation Meets Action,” will gather approximately 7,000 participants including innovators, startups, investors, corporations, politicians, and academics.
Following three years in Bristol, the 2024 event relocates to Woolwich Works in London from October 16-18.
UrbanChain’s Founder CEO Somayeh Taheri will participate in the “Energy Futures: Accelerating into the new energy paradigm” panel discussion. Fellow panelists include Susie Leppard (Head of Renewables at OVO) and Nigel Pocklington (CEO of Good Energy).
Channel 4 journalist Keme Nzerem will moderate the session, scheduled for 3:30pm-4:20pm on Wednesday, October 16, on the Futures Stage.
The discussion will address renewable energy intermittency solutions, policy requirements for decentralized low-carbon energy systems, and disruptive innovations challenging traditional market structures.
UrbanChain operates the UK’s peer-to-peer energy exchange platform, enabling renewable energy generators to sell directly to consumers. The regulated, blockchain-backed, AI-powered marketplace serves local government, data centres, office buildings, industrial sites, and housing associations.
